The botanical garden - Brentonico
Educational museum on the flora of Monte Baldo
The
Brentonico botanical garden covers over 3500 m2 of the area in front of the
Palazzo Eccheli Baisi.
It is divided into two areas:
- the renaissance style garden
- the natural landscape area
The renaissance style garden is organised on three levels ordered into geometric flowerbeds in which lavander, medicinal species and Monte Baldo’s most typical species are grown, which are organised by different themes:
- endemics
- edible species
- poisonous species
- ruderals
Whereas many of Monte Baldo’s wild species are collected in the natural landscape area, divided into habitat.
Among the habitats reproduced are:
- a thermophilic rock garden
- nitrophilous pasture
- wetlands
- subalpine scrub
- a fern garden
