‘Malghe’ and shelters

Easy pathways immersed in green surroundings, breathtaking views and the delicious local produce of the Trentino mountains

The ‘malghe’ are typical stone constructions surrounded by the green alpine meadows used for pasture.
In the ‘malghe’ you can see the grazing cows and sometimes watch the milking process and taste the fresh dairy products such as ‘Il primo Fiore’ cheese, ‘Alpinella del Baldo’ and ‘Formaggio all’Enantio’ (a cheese matured in wine).
The ‘malghe’ are easily reached by foot along the mule track, by bicycle or on horseback and are open from May until October.

Take advantage of our holiday packages which include visits to ‘malghe’ and tasting of dairy produce!

Follow the paths that bring you to a higher altitude where not only can you admire the breathtaking views but you will also be pleasantly surprised at the hospitality of our shelters.
The shelters are open in the summer season.
In the winter season they are a snowshoeing destination.

You can also try typical local produce in the shelters, such as canederli (dumplings), polenta funghi e formaggio (polenta with mushrooms and cheese) and strudel.
On the Brentonico Plateau some shelters offer a menu of flowers and aromatic herbs from Baldo.
