The Mountain in summer
Paths of flowers and history
Monte Baldo, Biaena, Monte Stivo, Pasubio, Zugna, and the Little Dolomites are the mountains that surround Rovereto and accompany the Adige into Vallagarina.
These are the first mountains you come across if, having taken the Autobrennero, you approach Trentino from the plain. The highest peaks are slightly over 2200 m and make an interesting prologue to the majestic Dolomites, a little farther North.
Rich in history and beautiful natural sites, they are home to resorts, suitable for
family tourism and very well equipped for various
sporting activities.
- The Brentonico Plateau and the parco dei fiori del Monte Baldo (the Monte Baldo flower park), are located along the Northern slopes of the mountain that forms the coast of Garda
- The Val di Gresta, that the Passo Bordala connects with Lake Cei, is Trentino’s organic vegetable garden in an oasis of peace and tranquillity
- The Vallarsa and the Valli del Leno, preserve the memory of the Great War in a wild and uncontaminated environment
- Lessinia, a green plateau with many ‘malghe’ (shepherd’s huts) and pastures between Trentino and Veneto
Here you will find an
extensive network of trails that will take you on easy walks such as the
orme dei dinosauri (dinosaurs’ footprints) and among the
‘malghe’ in the alpine pastures, or on more challenging treks along the
Sentiero della Pace (Path of Peace) or the
Strada of 52 Gallerie (Road of 52 Galleries), that you can follow in stages at the shelters. The
Mountain&Garda Bike circuit in Baldo allo Stivo is also spectacular.
