The Mart presents a journey through the history of art of ‘900. Edited by Veronica Caciolli, Daniela Ferrari, Denis Isaia, Alessandra Tiddia
The Mart’s Collection consists of over 20.000 works, that in different ways and at different times are exhibited in the Museum’s rooms in exhibitions and single-subject or thematic exhibition itineraries. #collezionemart describes one possible exhibition.
Through the look of its curators, the Mart reshapes itself and builds new inedited stories by valuing its own collections and making unique the visit experience, thanks to a restored and intimate connection with the works.
A great exhibition divided in two thematic and chronological itineraries: #modernaclassicità e #canonecontemporaneo. The first section begins with Medardo Rosso and finishes with Giorgio Morandi, passing through Mario Sironi, Carlo Carrà, Arturo Martini, Giorgio de Chirico, Fausto Melotti, Massimo Campigli, Osvaldo Licini and much more.
It continues with the ‘900 century from Lucio Fontana to Chen Zen encountering John Baldessari and Alberto Burri but also Bruce Nauman, Candida Höfer, Robert Mapplethorpe, Luigi Ontani, Cindy Sherman, Wolfang Tillmans.
Together with the Collezioni’s masterpieces is showed up also the treasure and the variety of materials and documents, which have been conserved into the “Archivio del ‘900” of the Mart and complete the art-historical itinerary with manifests, invitations, brochures, press clippings and catalogues, correspondences, photographs, sound recordings, videos.
