The Peace trail

A walk along a peace-themed trail on the traces of the First World War

The Peace trail (“Sentiero della Pace”) is an historical hiking route over 520 km long, from Stelvio to Marmolada, in a single trail along the Italian-Austrian front line of the First World War.

Imagine stepping on the same trails on which heroes and soldiers once marched, imagine venturing along the paths which witnessed the great battles of history.
This is the Peace trail, a journey through the epic lands of Trentino, where history and nature merge into an unparalleled experience.

Each step on this trail is a full immersion in the past, a travel in time which brings back to the First World War. Trenches hidden among the Woods, old fortifications that dominate the valley, silent witnesses of an era of heroism and sacrifice. It is a travel through time, an ode to life and death, unfolding over more than fivehundred kilometers of emotions and reflections.

However, the Peace trail is not only history, it is an experience in the unspoiled beauty of the Alps: among trenches and fortifications, among perpetual glacier snows and the gentle slopes of Lake Garda, the Peace trail reveals its beating heart, filled with memories and hope.
