Futurist House of Art Fortunato Depero
Italy’s only futurist museum is in Trentino
In Rovereto discover the collection donated to the city by Fortunato Depero: intarsia inlays in fabric, furniture, “buxus” ornaments, toys and products of applied art.
Casa d’Arte Futurista Depero is an integral part of Mart. Born from artist Fortunato Depero’s incredibly original vision, it is the only futurist museum in Italy. Besides small thematic exhibitions, you will find a rich permanent collection throughout the halls of the museum. Admire the intarsia inlays in fabric, the furniture, the “buxus” ornaments, the toys and the products of applied art. Look closely at the works portraying significant moments of the artist’s vision: the theatrical beginnings, the dance models, the New York period between 1928 and 1929, the successful advertising and editorial production.
Casa d’Arte Futurista Depero is in the historic center of Rovereto, just a few steps from the castle, location of the War Museum. You can visit both with the Trento Rovereto Card, the access key to Trentino’s main museums and castles!
