Castione in Brentonico

The breath of ancient trees

Walk among the majestic trees of Brentonico upland and discover its main fruits: chestnuts

You are on Brentonico upland, between Adige and Lake Garda in the heart of the Natural Park of Monte Baldo, known by all the European botanists as the “Italian Garden”thanks to its rich variety of plants and flowers.

Here is the small village of Castione, characterized by the huge amount of trees that produce a special fruit that has made the small town so renowned: chestnuts! These ancient and majestic trees raise all around the small village. Their leafy branches become gold during autumn.

And it is exactly autumn the perfect period to take part to the guided tours through the chestnut trees to admire their beauty and taste the famous Castione chestnuts that every year are the protagonists of local events, such as The Chestnut feast, or of the autumn menu served with other typical dishes of Trentino tradition: canederli, strangolapreti, potatoes polenta, tasty cheese, strudel and zelten.

Do you want to do an evocative walk? Follow the chestnut trees path that links Castione to Brentonico village.
