A relaxing walkg among the vineyards of lower Vallagarina, discovering its nature, history and one of its finest products… Wine!
Discover Ala's rural soul through a unique experience: a self-guided tour among heroic vineyards, old towers, and timeless villages.
But how to find the way? It's simple: download our map on your phone.
The Experience includes:
- Digital map: 21 stops between history and nature.
- Total freedom: a complete 11 km itinerary or shorter routes, as you choose.
- "A Spasso con La Cadalora" kit: a bottle of our cru wines to enjoy during a scenic picnic or comfortably at home.
Discover the highlights of the route:
- Medieval times and mystery: start at the Tower of St. Margherita, once a refuge against bandits, and discover the 13th-century mills with their original millstones.
- Steps through history: walk along the only unpaved Roman road in Vallagarina, dating back to the time of Emperor Titus, and reach the scenic Sanctuary of St. Valentino for a breathtaking view over the valley.
- Rural architecture: explore the "ere" (inner courtyards) of Maso Cumer and Maso le Pozze, where time seems to have stood still among ancient stables and grain-drying lofts.
- Heroic vineyards and terraces: cross the dry-stone walls of the Majere and discover where our wines are born: from spicy Marzemino to high-altitude Pinot Noir, up to the revival of the native Casetta grape variety.
Highlights along the way:
- The Imperial Road: you will find a Habsburg milestone marking exactly 200 km from Innsbruck.
- The Ora of Garda: feel the lake wind that cools our vineyards and makes them perfect for Chardonnay.
- Mulberry trees and velvet: admire centuries-old mulberry trees, witnesses of the time when Ala was the European capital of velvet.
