Giacomo Balla – The Style of the Avant-Garde

The Mart presents one of the world’s largest private monographic collections: the complete collection of works by Giacomo Balla belonging to the Laura Biagiotti Collection and the Biagiotti Cigna Foundation.

Structured into five thematic sections — Divisionismo, Futurismo, La moda futurista, Ricostruzione futurista dell’universo e Una nuova figurazione moderna — the exhibition guides visitors through the evolution of Balla’s artistic vision.

Unique in its exclusive focus on a single artist, the collection highlights Balla’s thought in its constant transformation, retracing its stages, obstacles, and achievements.

Through paintings, drawings, furnishings, objects, and garments, 240 works engage in dialogue with a selection of canvases and archival materials from the Rovereto museum. The exhibition also features the vibrant "Genio Futurista", the largest work created by Balla.

With this project, the Mart and Biagiotti celebrate a utopia transformed into form: a journey rediscovering the visionary and contagious force that marked the dawn of Italian modernity.
