Alessandro Secchi Farm
A winery nestled in a green oasis
Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by the olive trees lining the driveway leading to this small farm, nestled on the valley floor just a short distance from the Baroque village of Ala, known as the City of Velvet.
A small family-run estate surrounded by the vineyards of the Vallagarina, where the Secchi family has been growing its own grapes with love and passion for more than four generations.
Alessandro Secchi, who now runs the winery, shares a story similar to that of many other winemakers in Trentino: a farming family that, for generations, cultivated vineyards and supplied its grapes to cooperative wineries or other wine producers. In 1996, the family made the carefully considered decision to start producing its own wine, gradually establishing and strengthening its own brand.
The estate’s vineyards are all located between the municipalities of Rovereto and Ala. Among the white varieties, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer stand out, together giving life to the wine “Berillo d’Oro”, while the French grape varieties produce an outstanding wine, Corindone Rosso. Between the hamlets of Serravalle and Santa Margherita lie the vineyards of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Lagrein and Marzemino, from which the winery produces its range of red wines, the true hallmark of this Vallagarina estate. Among them, Realgar stands out: a unique Trentino blend that brings together the native varieties Lagrein and Marzemino.
