Azienda Agricola Vignali Varás
Winegrowers in the Alps since 1689
Giovanni Frapporti, together with his father Mario, cultivates the family vineyards in Vallagarina, in the village of Isera.
The winery is called Vignali Varás, named after the oldest terraced vineyard owned by the family, passed down through generations for over 280 years.
After studying oenology and travelling and working around the world, Giovanni decided to return to the family estate and begin vinifying some of their finest vineyards (around one and a half hectares). In recent years, Giovanni has also developed a passion for artisanal winemaking, free from artifices and compromises.
Today, the winery produces two red wines obtained from the blend of three native Vallagarina grape varieties: Marzemino, Enantio and Casetta. The first vintage released on the market was the 2021, with a production of 2,400 bottles. The grapes ferment spontaneously, without the use of sulphites during vinification.
After approximately one and a half years, the wine is bottled unfiltered.
Visits to the winery and wine tastings are available by reservation only.
