Simoncelli farm
Family wines
A farm dating dating back to 1977 when the owner, Armando Simoncelli, decided to start vinifying the grapes from its own vineyards and bottling them under his own name on the label.
The farm is based in “Navesel”, an old harbour along the Adige River, southwest from the city of Rovereto. Following the embankment of the river and the reclamation of the valley floor, this area has become fertile countryside, the ideal place for growing and producing high-quality grapes.
It is here that, two hundred years ago, the Simoncelli family began their activity, respecting a tradition that today includes 12 hectares of estate-owned vineyards. The property is completed by the farmhouse, renovated in 1985, where the grapes are vinified and aged, but above all, it is still the home where the entire family lives today.
Production amounts to approximately 90,000 bottles per year, with varieties such as “Marzemino Gentile”, “Schiava”, “Pinot Bianco” and “Pinot Grigio”, “Chardonnay”, and “Bordeaux-style” wines. The range is completed by a Trento DOC traditional method sparkling wine made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, and “Navesel” Trentino Rosso DOC, a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, aged in small oak barrels for 18 months.
Armando Simoncelli, together with his wife Silvia, their son Paulo, and their daughter Anna, welcome you into their home to taste their outstanding wines and discover their story.
