The magic of Bontadi coffee

Where? Torrefazione Bontadi - Rovereto

When? From the 1st of January to the 31st of December, 2026

A visit to the historic roastery in the heart of Rovereto

Immerse yourself in the streets of the city’s historic center and breathe in the enveloping, unmistakable aroma of coffee slowly drifting from the oldest coffee roastery in Italy.

A journey through time and space awaits you at the "Torrefazione Bontadi" (Bontadi Roastery), where you will discover a centuries-old culture and the various stages of processing this product. Co.Bo, the Coffee Museum of the Bontadi Collection, will tell you the story of this company from 1790 to the present day.

At the entrance, the aromatic essence of coffee will fill your senses, while your eyes will discover where in the world the coffee plant is grown and how to tell the difference between a freshly harvested bean and a freshly roasted one.

Continuing along the tour, you will encounter over 300 coffee-making tools, many of which are splendid examples of early 20th-century Italian design by Achille Gaggia, Cimbali, and Faema: roasting equipment, espresso machines for bars, travel machines designed for ships, trains, and motorcycles, moka pots, coffee grinders, and beautiful collections of hand-painted cups.

At the end of the experience, you will be able to taste this precious product, masterfully prepared by a true coffee expert... you will certainly taste the difference!
