Palio Città della Quercia

The “Palio Città della Quercia” competition has 60 years of history and it is the oldest Athletics Track race in Italy. Thanks to the live-TV on Rai Sport Channel, this contest brings the name of Rovereto alla around the world.

The “Palio” has always been an important showcase for international athletics, able to bring in Trentino area famous champions.

The Rovereto meeting is the oldest Athletics Track Race in Italy, and for sure one of the ancient in Europe and in the world. In these 60 years many great Italian and international athletics come to Rovereto, such as: Sebastian Coe, Jonathan Edwards, Stefka Kostadinova, Fita Lovin, Stacy Dragila, Javier Sotomajor, John Aki Bua, Jacek Wszola, Nenad Stekic, and Kari Kani (world record 2000 mts of hedge)

In more than half a century of history also some unforgettable Italians people came to “Palio della Quercia”, such as: Pietro Mennea, Renato Dionisi, Gabriella Dorio, Fiona May, Giovanni Evangelisti and many more.
