When?

Shows, meetings and special tours in the last fortress of the Austro-Hungarian Empire

Fort Pozzacchio offers major events in addition to the calendar of guided tours.

The Fort, built by the Austrian commands, was disputed with the Italian side, which occupied it for a year before returning it to the Hapsburg Empire until the end of the conflict. Inside, arranged on three levels: large underground shelters, numerous service rooms, connecting staircases and artillery emplacements. There are spectacular views from the large loopholes: Vallarsa, the Leno Valleys, Pasubio, the Little Dolomites, Passo Buole and Monte Zugna.

Guided tours
In September it is open from Friday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (last entrance at 5 p.m.).

From 3 October, the fort is only open on Saturdays and Sundays.

From 14 October, reduced opening hours will apply, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., last admission at 4 p.m.

Guided tours on 9, 23 and 30 October, single shift at 14.00, always with prior booking.

 

Presentation of the book “Forte Pozzacchio – Werk Valmorbia, from sentinel to messenger”.
Saturday 01 October | 3 p.m.

Presentation of the work with architect Francesco Valerio Collotti, curator of the restoration.
From 4 p.m. Guided tour with the architect, by appointment (€ 5 per person).
In the event of bad weather, the presentation is postponed to 1 October, 3 p.m.

 

Presentation of the book “Noi siamo i Veci” by Paolo Campanardi
Sunday 02 October | 2.30 p.m.

Presentation of the book “Noi siamo i Veci” (We are the Ten) by Paolo Campanardi, aka Gibba, star of the well-known TV programme “Metal Detective”.

The event will be free of charge and no booking is required.

On the occasion, the Forte bar will be open and there will be the opportunity to buy chestnuts and mulled wine.

Sunday 16 October | 3 p.m.

Theatrical reading with “Il giardino delle parole”, an event within the Sentinelle di Pietra 2022 calendar.

Free admission by reservation

 

Candle Castle – Horror edition
Saturday 22 October | 1st round from 4 p.m., 2nd round from 5.30 p.m.

Live piano concert by candlelight inside the Fortress

How to reach Forte Pozzacchio
Forte Pozzacchio is located near the village of Pozzacchio (Municipality of Trambileno, Province of Trento) and can be reached via the SS46 Vallarsa road.
From Rovereto: take the SS46 del Pasubio for about 12 km and then turn left following the signs for Forte Pozzacchio. At the last hairpin bend to the left before the village of Pozzacchio, a small diversions to the right leads to the car park where you can leave your vehicles and continue on foot. The walk takes about 15-20 minutes.

Opening 2022: Sunday 1 May to Sunday 30 October
In May and from 3rd October, the fort is only open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., last admission at 4.30 p.m.
From 14 October, it is only open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During the other months, the fort is open from Friday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., last admission at 4.30 p.m.
Guided tours on 9, 23 and 30 October, single shift at 2 p.m., always by appointment.
