The works of Giovanni Tommasi Ferroni displayed in Villa Lagarina

Classical architecture, fantastic characters and modern scenarios come together in magnetic and surprising compositions.

Giovanni Tommasi Ferroni is a figurative painter. He grew up in a family of artists and soon became one of the most interesting painters of his generation. His language rich in fantasy and cultured references reinterprets the great tradition of the 17th century with a contemporary and ironic look, in which the centuries behind us dialogue with possible future imagery.

On display is a selection of the artist’s most important recent works, some of which have never been exhibited before. Rome, the eternal city, is the great protagonist of Giovanni Tommasi Ferroni’s works. In his paintings, the ruins of antiquity duet with the great Baroque tradition and with unusual future scenarios, made up of failed landings and off-course sailings.

The path developed on the lower floor of Palazzo Libera reaffirms the vitality of figurative painting, giving life to a noble and dreamlike landscape that responds to the uncertainties of our time by relying on lightness and invention.

Promoted by the municipality of Villa Lagarina in collaboration with the Mart museum of Rovereto, the exhibition is produced by il Cigno GG Edizioni.
