Silk routes in Vallagarina

Guided tours by the “Fondazione Museo Civico” to get to know the most important locations of silk production in Rovereto, and Vallagarina.

• Saturday 26th of April, and 6th of December, 10am – 12pm | In Rovereto, among museums, irrigation ditches, and spinning mills
  Urban Trekking in the city centre of Rovereto, from the “Museo della Città” (The City’s museum) to “Colle Masotti” silk factory.
  An itinerary guided by “Fondazione Museo Civico” narrating the history of silk in Rovereto. The itinerary starts in the themed-room of “Museo della Città“, crosses “ponte Forbato” (Forbato bridge) and heads in the old hamlet of S.Tomaso, where “Colle Masotti” silk factory welcomes its guests. An initiative by “Fondazione Museo Civico” of Rovereto, in cooperation with ApT Rovereto, Vallagarina e Monte Baldo, and the Municipality of Rovereto.
  At the end of the visit, guests will be able to participate in a guided tour with wine tasting, at the Balter farm (optional, booking at this link).

•  Saturday 19th of July, 10am – 12pm | In Villa Lagarina to discover an ancient spinning-winding mill in the hamlet of Piazzo
  A morning dedicated to discovering an ancient hydraulic spinning wheel, still partially visible in its original form, a rare case in Europe.
  An initative by “Fondazione Museo Civico” of Rovereto, in cooperation with ApT Rovereto, Vallagarina e Monte Baldo, and the Municipality of Villa Lagarina. At the end of the visit, guests will be able to participate in the experience “L’arte di fare il vino” (The art of making wine), by Vivallis cellar (optional, booking at this link).
