From flower to flower, from bee to bee
Where? Lake Cei
When?
A microcosm to be discovered
A naturalistic walk that connects the suggestive Lake Cei to a small farm where Elisa, the owner, will tell you all about the importance of bees and flowers for our ecosystem.
Have you ever wondered what are the species of plants and flowers that characterize Vallagarina? How many bees form a colony and why they swarm? If you want to know more, this is the experience for you!
Meeting in the parking lot near Lake Cei, a quiet alpine lake in the center of the protected area of Prà dell’Albi-Cei, from here you will leave with an expert local guide along a route immersed in nature. Among woods, meadows and fields you will learn how to recognize the plants and flowers of this area and their hidden properties.
Step by step, you will reach the Sylvatica farm where Elisa collects herbs, grows vegetables and raises her bees in this small place immersed in silence. Together you will approach the magical world of these insects by observing them at work in the educational apiary, a transparent case where you will be able to see the queen bee and part of her family, and you will be able to discover other curiosities about the beekeeper’s work thanks to some explanatory cards and technical equipment.
You will then walk around the property to analyze which blooms to insert in the garden to help the bees and how to combine the world of medicinal plants with that of herbal medicine and beekeeping.
Finally, you will be able to taste some wild flowers honey and take a guided test of the company’s creams and cosmetics, in which beekeeping products play a significant role. At the end of the experience, walk back together towards the parking lot near Lake Cei.
